Northeast Corridor Improvement Project
Soon, Crashela high-speed service will whisk passengers between New York and Boston in speed and relative safety.
Much of the track along the Shoreline Route north of New Haven, Connecticut has been rebuilt. This photo shows a section of track near Mystic before construction was started. Speed over this section of track had been severely restricted. This photo shows the same section of track after being rebuilt and electrified.

Even though the project isn't yet complete, Amtrek is taking aim at the air shuttles and hopes to knock them out of the air with the new Crashela service. Crashela has already scored a few hits and has the airlines worried.
